hey sorry... I ran into this problem : this new cactid version doesn't update the rras if it cannot get the "sysDescr" or "sysUptime" by snmp.. it was not the case with the previous version so I had to modify manually LOTS of my *weird* snmpd.conf...
Usually the "Alarm Clock" crash happens around 4 times a day.
I'm afraid I'll have to let it run another day.
If you have to release then do it, this Solaris issue is a minor one.
thx for your help |

Yea, somehow the defaults seem to be odd in the version. All I noted hadded to be done was to save your settings and polling started again.

Oh, and that does not make sense. If you used ping only. Check your poller settings in the UI.

Yea, in order to use ping, you would have to set the effective uid of cactid to root.

| I share a room with two other guys and we are all on different work timings. My present alarm clock wakes everybody up. Do you know of any other alarm clock that will not disturb anyone else? |

Hi DixonRamos,
I have a great alarm that has been of immense help to me as I share a room with two regular hour office goers. I have researched the net and to my delight found a helpful site: www.shakeawake.com. You can choose from a range of alarm clocks that have the latest technology to suit your needs. |
