No, just trying to understand your environment so I can maybe troubleshoot the issue and provide a resolution . |

Ok, here's a brief rundown of the system...
Its Gentoo updated to the latest 2007.0 release.
Net-SNMP 5.4
PHP 5.2.2
Pear 1.6.0
Image_Graph 0.7.2
Apache 2.2.4
MySQL 5.0.42
Nagios 2.9
Cacti 0.8.6j
I don't believe there's anything else that's needed for this, please let me know if you need any more info regarding my setup. |

I'm also putting this on a new gentoo setup (2007.0) for monitoring a corporate network of about 500 servers and desktop machines. I'm curious if I can get Nagios and Cacti to play nice together, so I'm looking for a status update (and hoping I won't have to do all this myself )
BTW: I'm also using SNMP4Nagios and nagios-grapher, which are new ebuilds I'm putting in/working on and will require some more attention.
I'll post anything I find out during the process here. |

Hi,
Status is, unfortunately, that without some additional help (project is on sf.net) I won't be able to do a plugin-enabled release until November .. just too little time, unfortunately.
As soon as I can make time I will make this into a plugin and release it as a plugin, that is a promise. I have other ideas for this, just no bandwidth to use to implement them.
Frustrating that I never receive notices from the boards when new replies are made to this thread even though I have the 'notify me' box checked :p. |

Perldork,
I would be willing to start a dialog on what I might be able to help with this project. I have some ideas. |

Excellent! I have a mailing list set up on sourceforge.net for this project, please sign up and lets discuss there so our conversation is archived.

I am guessing this project is dead due to the fact that it is still a 0.1alpha install from 2006.
That sucks. Cacti + Nagios combined would be a major replacement for Corporate NOC's |

Who said it is dead? If you read the thread nowhere does anyone say it is dead .. things will get done faster if I get help but I have no intention of not updating this project.
it is 0.1 alpha because it is not yet a plugin, but the project works, I developed it for use at my day job, so no worries, the code is functional, just tagged it that way to indicate it is a first release and the API will change in a major way.
You interested in helping out?
Keep in mind this is just a common display for the two, does not do common authentication or configuration for them both. For that you might look at Centreon or OSSIM or other projects that more tightly integrate groups of open source monitoring applications. |

Hi Smux,
Unix_Net_SNMP is a class under the inc/ directory of Cacinda ...
ls inc/
Cacti.class.php functions.php Windows_MS_SNMP.class.php
Cisco_IOS.class.php Unix_Net_SNMP.class.php
CVS Unix_SysEdge.class.php
do you see a message in your error log about not finding it? What error message are you seeing? |

Er.. in http://sysmon.forbrazil.com.br/cacinda/index.php?host=Svr01&submit=Go show the Unix_Net_SNMP.php as PEAR Library (or Example).
If you have this file, please send to me??
Thanks!![/url] |
