|

I think DS templates is what I'd need here;
I have a number of servers (<20) that I'm graphing socket states on (e.g. established, time_wait, syn_sent, syn_recv... 12 in total). Though each time I add a server I need to Add a new DS (duplicate doesn't work), then duplicate a Graph, then change all the Graph Items in the duplicated Graph to use the new DS.
Or is there some easier way to do this?
Thx.!

The next release 0.8, coming soon, has implemented templates for Data Sources, Graphs, and Hosts. It's pretty cool if you haven't played with it yet.
For example: Ian has put together a set of templates for Netware servers (I am a consultant at a large law firm with about a dozen Netware servers) that allow you to setup several graphs with all associated data-sources in a matter of about 3 Forms.
With a little time, you could do the same for any number of sets of information that need to be setup for many machines. |

But will the duplication of Data Sources still pose a problem? I mean even if there is a template isn't it really like duplicating an existing data source? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding how this works.
In any case, I hope it solves the current problem of duplicating data sources. |
