|
|
Greetings all,
This appears to be a great plugin. I am having some problems though. I have downloaded the version from the SVN, and i have installed it and done the database_upgrade.php. I am trying to add my Cisco6500, with a SUP II card in it. I have added the device, and when i click on it from the devices area, it gives me the standard SNMP info at the top of the page, so i know that it is communicating properly with the device via SNMP. Now, when i tell MacTrack to run, once it runs the first time, it gives me an ERROR in the status field. I have tried setting this device to Switch/Hub, Switch/Router, and Router, and waited for the polling, and i get nothing.
2 questions.
1) How can i fix this problem, so i can start getting the data out of my switch.
2) How can i manually run the MacTrack poller, rather than waiting for the next 10 minute cycle to come by.
Any assistance would be greatly apprecaited.
app
p.s. I am getting no errors in the Cacti Log.
thanks

I had the same problem..... I had to change the System Description Match Field on the Device Type page to the correct string for my 6500's. |

No, do an snmpwalk of the device for sysDescr and check that what's returned on the second line that's contained within the brackets matches the System Description Match field on the Device Type page. |

if i do a SNMPWalk -c STRINGNAME -v 1 xx.xx.xx.xx system i get the following:
| Code: | SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Cisco Internetwork Operating System Software
IOS (tm) c6sup2_rp Software (c6sup2_rp-JK2S-M), Version 12.1(26)E4, RELEASE SOFT
WARE (fc1)
Technical Support: http://www.cisco.com/techsupport
Copyright (c) 1986-2005 by cisco Systems, Inc.
Compiled Sat 15
SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.1.283
SNMPv2-MIB::sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (3610391137) 417 days, 20:51:51.37
SNMPv2-MIB::sysContact.0 = STRING:
SNMPv2-MIB::sysName.0 = STRING: REMOVEDFORPRIVACY
SNMPv2-MIB::sysLocation.0 = STRING:
SNMPv2-MIB::sysServices.0 = INTEGER: 78
SNMPv2-MIB::sysORLastChange.0 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00 |
What would i put the device name as?

If you go into the "Device Types" option on the console and click "Next" to get the second half of the list you will see two Cisco 6500 SUPII "routers". Notice that in the fourth column there is a descriptor, nether of them match the one from the second line of your output.
What I would do is select one of them by ticking the checkbox on the right. Down at the bottom of the list change the dropdown from "Delete" to "Duplicate" and then hit "Go" "Next"
Now you have a third 6500 entry in the list with a (1) at the end. Edit that one so the System Description Match has: c6sup2_rp-JK2S-M
From there, all you have to do is make sure that your device has been set as "Switch/Router" and wait for the next poll. |

Well, thank you very much. The poller is running now, and it appears to be collecting data. I will let y'all know if i run into more issues, or have more questions.
