Would it be possible to select which lines you want, or ignore the ones you don't want to affect the y-axis scale of the graph? The reason for this odd request pertains to the following scenario. I have a template which graphs two items: ulimit and the number of file descriptors used by process X. In the case where the ulimit is really high and the FD count is relatively low the fluctuations over the course of a day are unnoticeable. I need the scale to be auto because the FD count varies greatly across 80+ servers. Having the ability to let the scale adjust based on selected line, or ignoring specified lines would be great.

But what should happen to the line that would exceed the graph size?

If it happens to fall into the range of the line you are interested in, then it would show up. Otherwise the assumption would be you are so from it, that its not of much interest at that time.

For example... The ulimit on most of the servers is set to 8192, when the FD usage of process X is relatively close (within 1000 or so) of the 8192 limit, I would be interested in seeing them on the same graph. If the FD count is varying between 0-500, graphing the two in relation to one another doesn't show the fluctuations very well for the FD count.

Basically if the two are relatively close I would want to see them together, otherwise seeing the item of primary interested in detail would be the greater concern.

See attached image which show the very high reference line. If this feature were configurable, then you could set some relationship at which point the two lines would be graphed on the same image.
