It is recommended to use 087b.
I can't claim it's bug free; indeed some problems are known even if we run it successfully for about 23k data sources.

My cacti server is running on a Linux server. My cacti version is 0.8.6j and would like to upgrade it to 0.8.7b. Is it possible to just upgrade from 0.8.6j to 0.8.7b? I really need to make sure, it works since this is in production and monitoring production servers. Is there a document that steps through the upgrade?
Thanks,
mike |

I wasn't successfull in upgrading. It changed most of my CDEFs (which could be fixed by myself) and I got several MySQL errors during the poll. So my data didn't get updated.
I reverted to the previous version (thanks to VMware snapshots! ) |

Are you talking about my database?
If so, let me know I really would like to upgrade to 0.8.7b and tried it already twice, both with nearly the same errors.
Have a look here. |

Have a look here. | knebb, I was talking about your database, correct.
But when visiting the other thread, I saw that the "db upgrade" was not really a problem. I suggested a workaround for your current problem there.
