CPU Threashold for linux

We just got thold installed and working. We want to setup alerts so that when cpu usage is 80% or higher to alert us. However, the cpu monitoring selection on thold only shows nice, user and system...no total. Is there a way to have thold combine these and get the value?

If not, whats a alternative way for us to watch cpu %? Is there a different CPU template that just shows total cpu % for linux?...one that works with SMP (2,4 and 8way cpu's)
