just my 2cents, but that sounds like a time-out issue where icacti is waiting for a response from the server and then ust silently fails ....

IMHO, the developer should require a Cacti Plugin to coincide with the Application. That would make this "much" easier.

I feel your pain. I have the same problem.

I noticed in my access_log:

There are no errors in the error_log.

When I put the GET request into the address line for my Cacti installation, I notice that it brings up the devices (host.php) page filtered on the term HTTP/1.1. For my installation, this returns a table of no devices.

I wonder if this is the problem?

So, I tried to be smarter than the average bear and added HTTP /1.1 to the description of my devices. Sure enough, the URL now returns a list of devices.

BUT .. still no response from the iPhone App.

I am not monitoring as many devices as you:

Finally, like you I am behind a work firewall. I took a look at the firewall logs and I could not find any other packets that were part of the stream that were being dropped.

Considering that there is no documentation about what we need to do to get this to work, I am assuming that it works out of the box.

SUCCESS!

I tried using my admin user and password and it works. It looks like it has something to do with the permissions. My guess is that the user that I was using only has permissions to view graphs. After looking at the GET request, I think I may have to give him permissions for the devices table.

Solved!

The final step for my non-admin user to gain access to the graphs was to give him the following permissions:

- console access,
- view graphs,
- update data sources,
- update graphs,
- and graph level permissions

This is from the iCacti page in the Apple Apps Store. I never noticed it before.

Everything looks great. The only issue I have is that there is no text on the on the bottom of the graphs showing the values. It would be nice to see current, min, max depending what the graph template says.
