|
|
Created a Host template to use with Compaq (HP) machines running the Insight Manager agents.
The CPU data Query is able to detect 2CPU's in a hyperthreading machine but I'm not sure if it works for more than one CPU.
Hope this is a usefull addition.

Hi,
now it looks like it works.
On which HP/compaq hardware did ypu tested it? Or with which compaq/hp insight management software version?
I think there are some differences.
Thanx

I've tested this on new hardware (HP DL380G3) with the newest insight manager and on old hardware (Proliant something). The older hardware is at least 4 years old as are the agents running on it. So far the scripts seem to work with all these machines. Still have to figure out memory. Normal and non-paged. Seems they are not the insight manager mibs but just the microsoft ones. All the machines are running windows 2k.
Cheers,
Michael

Hi,
I am new to cacti. But what I have seen so far seems quite impressive.
I found this compaq templates and WOW - that is what I need.
I imported the template, copied the queries to the proper directory...
But here i am stuck - the Data_query produces two errors:
Warning: file(/usr/share/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/mgb_compaq_cpu.xml): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/share/cacti/lib/data_query.php on line 57
Warning: implode(): Bad arguments. in /usr/share/cacti/lib/data_query.php on line 57
Any help is appreciated.
Thx
jogy

Glad my template has some use for someone.
Found out It's not possible without installing additional software on the server to graph memory. M$ still not fully support SNMP.

I have these running and they look great - Thanks. I do have a questionhowever. You label them as temp 1,2 ... How do we know exaclty which is which temp sensor. My boss wants me to get ones for hard drive temp, cpu temp, mem temp... That kind.
Thanks

I compared the temps with the ones measured with insight manager but couldn't find any logic for the temp sensors. The script just uses the information in the mib and I couldn't find any usefull information.
Regards and best wishes,
MGB

Thanks mgb, this is exactly what I was looking for!
I needed to get CPU, Mem and Disk for older Windows NT4 servers. Using the built-in Cacti "SNMP - Get Processor Information" and "SNMP - Get Mounted Partitions" does not work on NT4 (it does with 2000/2003).
Since all these older NT4 servers are Compaqs, I was going to write my own template to query the Insight agents but came accross yours. Great already done.
Good job.

Had to do a couple things to get this to work on my DL360 G3 (have yet to try it on a DL380).
In your snmp_queries directory:
mv mgb_compaq_cpu.xml mgb_compaq_CPU.xml
mv mgb_compaq_disk.xml mgb_compaq_Disk.xml
Had to edit the das_compaq_temps.xml file and remove the trailing .0 from all the OID's.
Other than that, works great!
