1) Download and install PHP 4.3.9
2) Download and install RRDTool 1.0.49

Then, let's talk.

I have finally gotten around to dongrading php from 3.4.10 to 3.4.9, and am still having the same graph gaps. I also upgraded to 0.8.6c.
Any other ideas?

Yard,

If you are running cactid, then you need to download the latest version from CVS. Please insure that you take "BRANCH_0_8_6". Remake and then try it again. I did find a problem with users using CACTID with hosts that did not require SNMP. Don't know if this is your problem. Also, worked with someone just yesterday who had unrealistic timeouts causing problem. They were way to high eg. 20000.

My timeout was at 400, I just changed it to 100. All of my devices are located on lan connections. I will see if this helps, then change the cactid version. How can I tell which version I am running, i think its cactid 8.6c.

Willie,

Once small change to prevent a segfault when you have a blank community string. Also, increasing timeouts for popen's.

Willie,

Multipoller is about 75% finished and funtional as it. There are a few features still missing. However, Ian is planning a some major database changes that will push out 0.8.7 a bit. However all will be worth the wait.

Due to the significant nature of the pending changes, please do not attempt any install of 0.8.7. We will let you know when to give it a shot.

Larry,

Thanks for the update. I am up to 1035 hosts, 7000 oids, and 3500 graphs. cactid is running at 140 secs. I expect to double the nubmers of hosts in the next 3 months.

Regards,

Willie

Holy cow Willie. I'm finally at 100 hosts. We'll be upwards of 400 within the month or so then 800 soon after that. I'm currently using cmd.php and polling those 100 hosts in about 45sec. 920 Graphs. I end up with Gaps and other "anomilies" using cactid that I haven't had time to troubleshoot.

Willie,

Provide some additional details on number of processes threads, etc.

Skaminski,

The latest version of Cygwin and the latest version of Cactid are much more stable than previous versions. Cygwin has caused many problems in the past with scripts, but has improved light years in the latest release.

Good news. I'll download the latest versions to see if it helps. We're at about 200 hosts as of today.
