Hi,
I find that as others throughout the enterprise are looking at the graphs produced via cacti, they are asking what they mean. Just a thought...
Have some text associated with a graph so that as you drill into the graph you also see the text with the graphs. Also, it would be really cool to be able to hover the mouse over any graph and have some popup or ballon or something showup that displays this text. This way I can have text that explains what they are looking at. Then I start to wonder the value for a short and long version and so on, but I just wanted to intro the idea. Or (brain still dumping) maybe allow some comment text in the database to be associated with a graph. Thus I could document some classes of graphs (system load, cpu usage, process counts, VSZ, netstat connections etc.) and avoid having a specific piece of text duplicated with each graph (there are many hundreds). Then we build a boilerplate database of typical graph configurations and explanations. This could go well - maybe - with the templating system.
Thanks,

I was trying to think of ways to improve the graph* pages, and I like this idea. The simpliest incarnation of this feature would be to add a comments field to the graphs table. There is a lot that you could potentially do with this kind of idea, but I'll keep it simple for now. Let me know if you have any more thoughts on this
(this feature has been tagged for the 0.8 release)
