Yup that is a problem indeed. Reason i asked in the first place was that i thought i perhaps did something wrong with the export.

Hi,

I am having problems with the graphs of all first ports on all brocades 3800 I am monitoring. When you take a look in the attached doc you will see that the throughput or the TX or RX words are not displayed correctly. That only appears on port 0 on every brocade - the other ones are displayed correct.

In the attached doc I have inserted one false graph and a correct one of the same switch.

Does anyone has got the same problem?

Thanks and best regards
Alex

Sorry, your interpretation may be incorrect. We're running those stuff from the very beginning without problems. And I can't reproduce your problems, else I'd surely help. As I don't have access to your systems, I can't even debug this. Sometimes, there are posts that tell users to import twice to correct problems. Personally, I can't confirm, but my latest imports are months ago. So I'm really clueless

Funny thing is, that the values are all the same for you're first port. Throughput, TX and RX Words.
My guess... the switches maybe have different OID's for the first ports or the Firmware might be buggy, reporting the wrong values. Througput is a CDEF product of TX and RX Words. So if those are not correct, the Troughput can't be correct as well.

Maybe have a look at the console of those switches, i remember seeing our storage guys using a CLI Command to show the stats of the port. Maybe you can check if those are corresponding with you're snmp values.

Also trying a SNMP walk over the device might show if those OID's have changed for Port 0.

now I have made a really fresh install of cacti 0.86h on a separate machine and only imported the brocade script with the same result...Everytime I get for port 0 the same values at RX and TX words. If this would be correct (what I really do not think) then the cdef does not work correct - remember Throughput=(TXwords+RXwords)*4....i am wired.....

HI,

I DOWNLOADED AND FOLLOWED THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BROCADE FABRIC SWITCH.

I SETUP MY BROCADE SWITCH FINE WITH THE NEW GRAPHS.

I AM NOT SEEING THE CORRECT MEASUREMENTS AS FAR AS THROUGHPUT AND TX AND RX TRANSMISSIONS.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ON THIS?

I HAVE SNMP V1 RUNNING ON MY SWITCH? DO I HAVE TO DO SNMP V3?

IS THAT MY PROBLEM?

Is it possible to show the brocade port names in the graphs?

1. If it does: Does cati check and update these regularly?

2. What happens when you add an additional blade to a 24000 in relation to graphing?

You refer to description, eh? This is possible by using the cacti query variable |query_ifDescr| defined by the Data Query XML file. Goto Data Queries, select this one. Then selec tthe Graph Template and find the Suggested Values section. Apply a new title using this variable.

That depends on the Re-Index Method. Newest cact has a php script that you may run regularly by cron: poller_reindex_hosts.php

I don't know this device. When re-indexing, the new ports will be found but no graphs will automatically be created. You have to create them as usual

I'm also trying to make this work with cacti 0.8.6d, but I'm getting the dreaded "Hash version does not exist" when I try to import the template. Could any of you kind souls who have this working on version D or earlier please export & upload your template? I'm really not up to upgrading all of cacti right at the moment, but I do need to do some monitoring on my Brocade switch. Thanks!

Hello,
I'am running on cacti 0. 8.6h and I got some problem when I tried to graph a port activity. When I create a new graph, the polling is not add to the poller cache ?
I've put brocade_interfaces.xml in the resources directory a dataquery is referencing it, so i don't understand what's going on.

Please goto Data Queries and select the Brocade one. Is the XML found (green text)?

yes, there was the green message.

I've just found a way to get it working, I had to check the checkbox in the graph Template/data template page which is link to the data queries page.
After doing this, the poller cache was update each time I ve created a graph.

I also had a bug, when I import the template, all the OID of temp and fan sensor have been lost.

Hi,

FYI I have found these templates seem to work with the HP MSA Fibre Switches - I might be being ignorant but I am not sure who really makes the switches for HP?!

Thanks for the templates, I have been trying to get the info to build these for months.

Hi,
1. Is there any CDEF Function for RX and TX words?
Cacti asks me that.

2. Even xml file contains approp. part , I cannot see the Description of the ports. I see only Index, Status, Type and Hardware Addresses.
Xml files contains:
Code:
                <ifDescr>
                        <name>Description</name>
                        <method>walk</method>
                        <source>value</source>
                        <direction>input</direction>
                        <oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.1588.2.1.1.1.6.2.1.36</oid>
                </ifDescr>

What is the problem? (Maybe Switch OS version not supported)
