|
|
Hi to all!
I've installed MACTrack. All ok, but I've a little problem with some servers.
In example, I've 4 Servers (Supermicro), 2 eth per server.
eth0 for all servers has a public IP:
In this case I can see the "End IP Device" and the "End DNS Device Hostname", but NOT the "Vendor Name", even if the MAC ADDRESS is correctly shown.
eth1 for all servers has a private IP:
In this case "End IP Device" and "End DNS Device Hostname" are EMPTY.
Strange is that the "Vendor Name" is correctly shown "Supermicro Computer, Inc.".
In all 8 MAC ADDRESSES the address begins with "00:30:48" also I should see in both eth the right Vendor, but it isn't so.
Can someone help me?
Thank's, Simon |

I add an info:
EVERYWHERE "End Device IP Address" and "End Device DNS Hostname" are NOT EMPTY (every public servers), I DON'T have a "Vendor Name".
EVERYWHERE "End Device IP Address" and "End Device DNS Hostname" are EMPTY (private servers) I have a correct "Vendor Name".

Simon,
You need to run the scanner for the device in question and then post your results:
php mactrack_scanner.php -d -id=<???>
Also, with regard to the Vendor Macs, you need to have native access to the OID database at the IEEE web site. I have included a script that you can manually download the file and import it though.

Hi TheWitness,
I've found a problem setting up the devices at first (ROUTER/HUB/SWITCH). Then I've removed all previous scan and now it's working.
Great
Thank's for the hint to scan manually
Have a nice WE, bye

I am also seeing this exact same issue, where it is not displaying the vendor name for MACs that DO have an IP address and a DNS hostname. It worked fine up until I selected the "Perform Reverse DNS Name Resolution" setting. I have run the scanner for the devices (all of them) in question.
Any thoughts?
Thanks. |
