Hey...I'm quite a newb with cacti, and am trying to set up mactrack. The Device Tracking section on the console is present, and all the pages seem to display fine. I have granted view and update permissions.
When I try to add a new site, I get the Error: Save Failed when I try to create it.
EDIT//I got this fixed...I didn't know the .sql wasn't imported automatically. Now that that's set, it's starting to look good...//

I am having the same issue and wondering if i am missing something else.
I installed mactrack as i would any other plugin and can not add devices or sites - just get "Error: Save Failed" - the cacti log showed errors when trying to access tables in the DB, checked and none of the mactrack tables were there so i used MySQL Administrator to restore the tables into the cacti db from the .sql file. (was this the wrong way to import them?) I do not see any more errors in the cacti.log and was then able to update the IEEE vendor macs, so DB communication appears to be working fine. Still getting getting 'save' error.
The poller also seems to be working - times are updating on the utilities>process tab.
also get this error when using the 'add' link on the venor macs page:

| I had this problem and after some digging around found that the mac_track_devices table is missing two columns being called. The 'notes' and 'device_name' columns are missing from the table causing the error. I altered the table to add both which fixed the error but I'm still unable to create a site. Granted i took a guess at the column specs which might be part of the problem, if anyone has the correct version of the table could you please post it. |

I ran into the same problem this morning..
I resolved the problem by manualy running the database_upgrade.php.
It so far has seemed to resolve my problems. |

I manually entered a site into the mactrack_sites table to test.
I added an Cisco 3560 the normal way through the GUI.

You did not perform the database upgrade as those tables now don't exist. This is why you are getting this error.

Hmm. No (readable) docs, imported both SQL files, using IE, and still can't save a site or device.
The only error in the log is:

The table exists but is empty, so the query should work OK. I noticed that the line ends with two ', but starts with " (one double quotes character). Is that Cacti's log printing, or the actual SQL? it's not clear.
Also - with no database tables, the OUI update thingy doesn't report any error at all.
