I am wondering if you can define certain windows for thold not to send alerts if they happen. We put our blade center into a restricted state every night for a couple hours to perform backups on the iSeries side and I don't want to alert about the servers that are running on the blades going down and coming back every night between those hours.
I only see the weekend exception check box, but wouldn't it be a bit better if we could define our own schedule for exceptions?
Is there any plugin that can do this?
Thank you! |

I'm wondering to create a threshold that is not a fixed value but another data field's value.
I explain it: i.e. I have a Data Template with two Data Fields: InputBytes and OutputBytes; I want to use InputBytes as the threshold, so if OutputBytes is over InputBytes the threshold is triggered. So this threshold would be "dynamic"... is this possible with THold plugin? |

Same happened to me. Test Mail worked, but not the alerting mails. The reason was that I forgot to enter my email-address at "user management" > "email address"
The email address in the thold settings seems not to be enough. |

It looks like it's all configured correctly, and the thold trips, but I do not get an email. test email works. i do have the email address in the user admin, and it shows on the thold setting for thold i set.
I see the entries in the log file. Something that is odd is that when a thold is breached, that thold does not show in the log file.
Ah, just found something new. I put an explicit email in the thold setting for a device and that one came through, but the default Admin email does not work.
Anyone have any ideas? Same email address in both locations. Something about the mailer code?

|
|
I apologize if this is a bit long, but I spent a couple of days trying various solutions mentioned in this forum. It turns out there were a few things I needed to fix, but I have not seen any mention of the final step required to get alerts working. Hopefully I can help prevent some frustration for a few people here.
I have had the same issue with email alerts not being sent when a threshold is triggered, after upgrading to Cacti 0.8.7b with Thold 0.3.9.
I assigned an email address to the admin user in User Management, as suggested by others in this forum. Once I did that, the user name appeared in the list of "Notify Accounts" on the threshold settings page. It was blank before that.
Still did not work. Emails were sent if I added an email address to the "Extra Alert Emails" field, but still would not send to the global account.
I found that when I clicked on the user name (Administrator - Email) in the Notify Accounts field so it was highlighted, then save the settings, it fixed the problem.
Now all my threshold alerts work after highlighting the Notify Account and saving. |

Thanks for the tip.
That seemed to help on the threshold breach alert, but i don't get another alert when the breach has cleared.
Anyone else have a suggestion?
Thanks!! |

hello,
Is it normal my "Threshold Templates" is empty ?
When i try to auto-create threshold on a device, i got "No thresholds were created."
It seems i need Threshold Templates but i don't know where to find them
I use debian cacti package 0.8.7b-2 and pluginarch patch file cacti-plugin-0.8.7b-PA-v2.1.diff
I installed thold-0.3.9
Thanks. |
