Something happened to the Cacti server that I am in charge of. For some reason the data source for "Traffic_Out" in the Interface - Traffic template was missing. I fixed that then corrected the graph template, but all of the graphs are still missing the traffic_out datasource. I have manually fixed part of the graphs, but does anybody know of a more automatic way to fix the rest of the large number of graphs on my server?
I am running Cacti 0.8.7 on Linux. |

Please describe, how you've fixed the data source issue and what the rrd files look like (do the hold BOTH data sources?). Please post a screenshot of a broken graph, then

The graphs all have the blue line at the very top of the green area and the legend at the bottom of the graph has the exact same values for IN and OUT. The server has 2000+ graphs on it. All of the ones I have looked at are broken in this way. I would have posted a picture of the graph, but I do not have access to the server where I am at right now.
As for the fix that I have put into place. When I opened up the data source for Interface - Traffic (bits/sec) I noticed that there was not a tab for "traffic_out". I re-created that tab using another Cacti server as a template. Next I opened up the graph template to see if the traffic_out items were missing there. The traffic_out items were missing so I re-added them in the graph template as well.
On the graphs that I manually fixed all of the history shows up. About an hour of outbound traffic is missing on the graphs which lines up with the time between finding the problem and fixing it. The next time I have access to the server I will get screenshots for you.
Thanks. |

Nobody fessed up to it, but I believe that a data template was changed.
"Outbound Traffic" was associated with nothing in the broken graphs. |
