|
|
Dear all,
I use cacti to monitor my system, and it works perfectly with other linux 64 bits servers, but not with Windows 2008 64 bits.
The problem is that my servers have Gbps network card, but cacti can not graph correctly the usage of them. I have tried it with 32 bits counter and 64 bits counter but no luck.
I installed realtime plugin and it can show the right network usage (over 300Mbps) while cacti only show traffic < 115 Mbps (with 32 bit counter) and no graph with 64 bit counter. (see my attachments)
Please advice me that what should I do?
My cacti system:
CentOS 5.2
Cacti 0.8.7b
SNMP net-snmp-5.3.1, configured cacti use Version 2
Thanks a million,
andqt--

| Previous versions of Windows didn't implement 64bit network counters, even when using SNMPv2; seems like Windows 2008 does not either.

But why plugin realtime could draw graph exactly (use 32bits counter)? Perhaps some thing wrong with cacti itself?

| Because it probably constantly polls the 32bit counter fast enough before it rolls over.

| So, do we have any solution for monitoring network card (Gbps) usage in windows with cacti?

| Change the polling interval to something faster than 5 min, in hopes the 32bit counter won't roll over in the time window between data collection intervals.
