sooo, several things.
1) what version/build of rrdtool did you install? Make sure its the W32 version instead of NW or cygwin.
2) Make sure rrdtool 1.2 is selected in cacti's settings.
3) You see that socket error in the cacti log file? Looks like you didn't properly follow my installation guide an configure PHP correctly. Do so. |

Hi there,
rrdtool-1.2.27-1-w32.zip is the one i am using....
with the PHP i have followed steps from installation guide on this qwebsite still no luck. I removed everything and build everything from scratch but no success. This time i can not create data source and get error:
Notice: Undefined index: Hostname in D:\wwwroot\cacti\lib\utility.php on line 243
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at D:\wwwroot\cacti\lib\utility.php:243) in D:\wwwroot\cacti\data_sources.php on line 294
any ideas?
Note: i have read your php installation guide 20 times now and i am sure i have followed all the steps.
thanks |

Still sounds like NTFS permissions issues.
Get properties on your \wwwroot\cacti\ folder. Add the IUSR_ and IIS_WPG accounts. click on advanced and make sure to check 'replace permissions on child objects...'. Those undefined headers, indexes, etc are a sure sign of that -- unless you've already modified cacti's files with mods, etc. |

Hi,
Finally i managed to fix the problem under Data Input Methods, i created a method with hostname in it, but under input methods i used Hostname.
Note: the difference is capital H changed it to smalll h and worked fine, no more of PHP errors so to summarize this Inout fields under Imput Methods are case sensitive.
Hope this make sense. |
