|
|
I noticed that my cacti.log file stopped growing suddenly about 10 days ago with a size of ~1.1GB. Is there a max size limit or suggested method to keep this log maintained?
As a workaround I renamed the file to cacti.old_log and a new cacti.log file was automatically generated and appears to be updating properly again. |

Suggest you use logrotate for your problem.

Well, you may have to search for something as Windows does not have such primitive and usefull features. It relies more on complex and hard to configure things.
What I would do is create a scheduled task to zip up the log file once a week and create a new one. You could have it keep a few backups.
There may be a utility available for Windows, or Cygwin might also do it. Not too sure.

Cool, I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
So is there a theoretical limit on the cacti.log file? |
