Having sorted our earlier problem, I am now graphing one of our core ports.
We also have PRTG, but are moving to Cacti as your software supports vlans and PRTG doesn't.
However, when I compare the same port on PRTG to Cacti, there is a huge difference in the data.
PRTG is currently reporting 200 Meg Out and around 75meg in.
Cacti is showing 75 meg in and 80 meg out.
Do I need to do something different for Gigabit ports? |

| Try changing the polling time for 5 minutes to 30 seconds. Sometimes Gigabit counters reset themselves and cacti can't catch them. |

Thanks for the tip, it did get the graph higher, but its still way out.
Our network is currently doing around 400 meg on PRTG, yet Cacti reports 120 meg. |

I really cant figure this out.
The same device in two seperate tools is showing huge differences
I turned it off last night, which is why there is a gap in cacti, but if you look at 10am this morning, PRTG is showing the correct amount of traffic, where has Cacti is over 100 meg less.
Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this?

You need 64-bit interface counters. |
