|

Hi folks,
I searched the forums and found nothing relevant, I apologize if this has already been covered.
Is there a way to annotate graphs? Like associating a datetime with a string, then sticking a dot on the graph for that event.
Like:
11:00 -> "Upgraded Server 1"
12:00 -> "Upgraded Server 2"
Then having little dots appear on the graphs at 11:00 and 12:00.
Thanks!

Currently not known. How should those annotations be created?

I'd imagine I could give cacti a time-indexed log of events. I guess RRDTool would have to support it too. |

I must admit, I was hoping for a mechanism like this also... this would be extremely handy from a monitoring point of view - for example on a temperature graph, make a red vertical line indicating the installation of a new air conditioner so that it's easy to see a before / after effect, or to annotate an ADSL bandwidth graph with a line indicating a change in modem settings to see cause and effect.
I have no idea how to handle this technically of course, only hoping a solution was out there |

Create a graph template specifically for that graph, and add the extras a VRULE's and COMMENTS...
