I attempted to start looking at the 0.8.6 beta test and the upgrade went pretty smoothly. However, when starting to poll my system for the updates, the system returned:

F:\php>php.exe f:\webdocs\eam\htdocs\cactiup\poller.php
Content-type: text/html
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.4

There are no items in your poller cache or polling is disabled. Make sure you have at least one data source created. If you do, go to 'Utilities', and select 'Clear Poller Cache'.

However, I have 665 items to poll in 0.8.5. All of my datasources are available and I've cleared the Poller Cache multiple times.

Any thoughts?

My system is a Windows 2000 Server. Everything else seems to be available... All of my graphs, my RRD, configurations, etc.

Version downloaded today: cacti-0.8.6-pre20040818.zip

Thanks!

_DS

F:\php\php.exe F:\webdocs\eam\htdocs\cactiup\poller.php

Goto Settings->Poller and verify that your poller is enabled. Also, what poller are you currently running, is it cmd.php or cactid?

Poller is enabled and I'm using cmd.php.

Just for reference, I exported out my CACTI database from MySQL, created a new database called CACTIUPGRADE and imported my SQL. Then I simply installed the new PHP scripts to a new directory, changed config.php to point to the new database instance and started it up. It did the upgrade without and issues. Both versions are on the same system, but with different databases and a seperate copy of the RRD files.

Anything else I should look at?

Thanks,

_DS

BTW... I do apologize for not getting a chance to help out the Beta Testing... I had high hopes to get some of the tests in several weeks ago when I contacted you at the start of the testing!

Seem's very odd. Use a database tool to verify the contents of the Settings table. Field name value is "poller_enabled" value should be "on". Table is poller_items, should be non zero rows (~665).

This is a bug. Simply disable the poller. Save and then re-enable and Save again. This should correct the problem.

I've done as requested... However, it's still not showing any polling items. I was mistaken before on the settings page. I had taken the default MYSQL list and it only showed 30 items per page... When I flipped to the second page it was correct...

I've done a new upgrade with the latest build of the Windows .8.6 Cacti build and it still wasn't able to find the poller items. Nothing is in the poller table and I've performed the actions as listed.

Can anybody else shine some light on this? I'd be more than willing to eMail out my exported MYSQL database for you to test...

Thanks,

I'm not sure if this helps much or not... but I just installed the latest Beta copy (8/31) into a brand new installation on Linux (Fedora 2) with all of the latest MySql, Apache, and PHP - and I'm getting 0 items in the poller cache as well... And this was a new install.

The only thing I could think of is that the types of items I'm polling might just be missing. I don't use any SNMP at all... it's reading STDIN from scripts using SCRIPT/COMMAND.

Not sure if that helps or not...

Thanks,

_DS
