Hello everybody !
Just wanted to ask whether it is also possible to perform a real-time query for ip / mac address of attached devices in the network.
I am really looking forward to testing this interesting tool. |

Problem with Netdisco is it doesn't support Apache 2 installations at this time and why install a completely seperate product when the functionality can be incorporated here? |

| Any chance on adding in Nortel devices? I have decent sized network of Nortel devices and it would be nice to have this feature for them as well. |

I've been checking this thread for what seems like months
I would be totally satisfied with unguaranteed alpha software... Maybe if it was released we could make some progress with it here in the community?
Anyways, at least a news update would quench our thirst
cheers

We have to release 0.8.6h before I can release the addin. Plus cigamit has to roll into the plugin architecture. I am very busy at the office. I feel real bad about not being able to release yet. I will see what I can do.
If you can move a pre-production box to the SVN version of Cacti though, you may be Ok.

Larry,
I am very interested in this once it is available. Are you doing the tracking form an external poller?
Regards,

Damn, I "just" finished hacking arpwatch to do similar stuff, of course all in perl and flatfiles and no frontend for looking at the data it collects. Never once crossed my mind to put it into cacti.
Only feature missing in cacti that I can see is network auto-detection.
I have an almost working script that walks the network nabbing arp tables and CDP neighbors. Its very slow but pretty through and just spits out a list, maybe I should start thinking about trying to get the data into the db... or did someone already do this too? |
