|
|
hi all and thanks to everyone for the huge effort.
Is there a script or an addon to auto-add new router interface or modules AND "auto-ignore" for uninstalled interfaces or modeules.
the situation is as follows:
I am dealing with a big environment where we have 1500+ CISCO routers and 1000+ switches. it is difficult to traverse them all through cacti and add or remove device interfaces one by one. it is ratehr absolutely easer to have a script or addon that deals with this and traces interface changes.
thanks in advance for those who will contribute. |

Interesting behavior. Let me give it some thought. I currently have a utility in SVN called poller_reindex_hosts.php that will rebuild all data queries, but it does not add/delete graphs based upon the results. Very interesting.

| I was just going to ask the same question. We are added new T1s almost on a daily basis and when those additions aren't communicated, we end up getting behind on getting all the lines monitored. |

Still "thinking" about it. Furthermore, by my simply saying that I would "think" about it, does not infer that it would make it into the product. Any MAJOR new features like this will have to wait to 0.9 which is still a ways out, due to major database changes.
The idea of adding this to interface graphs is not such a difficult thing. However, the author of Cacti would not accept a solution that would not work generically for all data queries. Therefore, this feature will take much thought.
I will bring it up at our next conference call.
Regards,
Larry |
