After https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2002-228.html was applied to update Net-SNMP, my previously working patched Cacti installation stopped updating SNMP sources.

I was able to revive my SNMP sources by adding "-v 1" to the "Optional SNMP version string." setting as found under the cacti settings page.

I cannot however add NEW or REFRESH existing SNMP Interface information.

I'm not getting useful information in my rrd.log file (at least as far as I can discern)

Any thoughts?

More info...

I can "Get SNMP Data" data source and graph that. I just can't add or refresh my SNMP Network interfaces.

Doesn't anyone have a suggestion as to how to even troubleshoot this?

I was able to work around it by removing net-snmp and installing ucd-snmp

I installed RedHat 8.0 with all the options I wanted. BUT I didn't install net-snmp. After the install I did all updates and then installed ucd-snmp and utilities.

Once I did that the rest is history.

Any suggestion for someone who is NOT willing to replace standard packages with older ones?
