I have now spent close to 3 days looking at this problem and trying to find an answer to it. I am currently trying to get CPU usage via SNMP with the ssCpuRaw MIBs. I can pull this data back and the graph/gprint will show the correct data up to the point that the counter resets on the system I am pulling the data from. At that point the graph and gprint no longer return correct data. They start showing a number followed by the letter "m." I have changed the data sources to counter. I have tried setting limits on the data source. I have also tried creating a CDEF that takes the value returned by RawUser RawSystem and Raw Idle adds them up and then divides by either system user or idle to get percentages but that doesn't work either. Is there some way to get cacti/rrdtool to understand a counter reset and continue on its happy way?

Who would of thunk it. Checking that made all the difference.
