Hello,
I keep running into instances where it would be useful to be able to edit the graph items on a graph that was created from a template. For example, I have a "Misc" template that graphs a single counter value and puts the current/average/maximum values in the legend. However, I need the Text Format in the legend to differ for each graph because each one graphs something different. But It doesn't seem like I can edit this on a per-graph basis when using a template.
So if this is something that can easily be made possible, that'd be great.
Great product, btw. Can't get enough of the pretty graphs. |

Boy do I have the feature for you You can do this by selecting the graph template you need to add this capability to. Click 'Add' under 'Graph Item Inputs'. Give it a name, and select 'Text Format' for the field type. Lastly, select the graph items that will be affected by this "input".
Graph inputs is basically a way to group graph items so that they you can change the value of multiple graph items with one UI change.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Ah, thanks. Totally missed that one... Very nice.
Here's another somewhat-related question: is it possible in Cacti to utilize the RRDTool \c escape switch to center text below a graph? What I have in mind is centering the standard per-line Current/Average/Maximum GPRINT text. When you view a single graph specifically, the text ends up way over to the left.
Definitely a minor issue, but I figured I'd throw it out there. |
