i have developed a php based script which is simple solution for Trap alert.it can receive alert from any machine and generate audible sound alert.it also receive traps from cacti.Cacti send trap via syslog whenever a host goes down or threshold is breached. in this a Windows application reads cacti/php specific messages and send them as trap.you can run script on same machine as cacti..it automaticall refreshes 30 seconds and alerts if any new traps are added.new traps added are show with red color.this system is login based and monitor login shows latest 25 traps only.it shows a Analogure clock. where as admin login allows you to see all traps in pages.and for each host it shows you link after clicking which you wud see that host specific alerts.if somebody needs it i can prepare a readme and post.i dont know how important it is

Sounds excellent. I would love to trial it as we do not have a very scalable trap management system and to implement one that rolls into cacti would be great.
