i have also heard that i need to export & re-import some RRA file using xml..

I'm not sure what you mean - if you are talking about RRA files, then this has one or two meanings. Normally, you just back up the RRD files, and put them into the new platform.

I think you may be looking at RRA values, which just means that you need to record what these values are before you port to the new platform. You can find these under Data Sources (Graph Management)
