I'm using cacti cvs 0.8.4 dated 14NOV2003. Cacti works fine with the cmd.php poller so I know the mysql database is setup correctly. I have double checked the values in the cactid.conf file and they match the values in the /include/config.php located in the cacti directory. When I run cactid from the terminal window I get the following after typing ./cactid
Cactid Version 0.8.4 Starting....
Connecting to MySQL Database cacti@localhost
** Failed Access denied for user 'cactiuser@localhost' (using password: Yes)
Where is cactid looking for the cactid.conf file? I modified the config file after I complied cactid and placed it in the home directory cactiuser. This is were the conf files has been placed before. Has this changed?
My linux setup is a custom redhat 9 config:
cacti-0.8.4-pre20031114
httpd v2.0.48
php v4.3.4
mysql v4.0.16
net-snmp v5.1.0
rrdtool v1.45
PS I am so pumped about the new import / export features in 8.4. Thanks again Ian for such great product.

Figure it out. The cactid.conf file must be in the same directory as the cactid binary file. If my memory is correct in previous version the cactid.conf file was located in the cactiuser home directory. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. |
