Dear all,
Does Cacti stop polling data sources after the device is down?
The problem is that I would like to use Advanced Ping to ping a device and when the ping loss is 100% to let Thold send me an email.
I get the impression that when Cacti detects that a device is down, it stops running the Advanced Ping script for that device. No pinging means no ping loss and thus no triggered threshold and no email.
Is my impression correct and if yes, how to work around it?
Thanks,
Pieratos |

You're quite correct. Cacti does a pre-check to avoid multiple timeouts. You can de-activate this precheck by setting downed host detection to NONE
