Post subject: When will there be Cacti 0.8.8?
PostPosted: Wed Apr 14, 2010 4:00 am
Any ideas when 0.8.8 might make an appearance, even as Beta?

I see the road map says first quarter 2010, though this has passed (unless it is referring to fiscal quarters)

Trillian Astra 4.0 actually... they had about a ~3 year beta before it was officially released.

We will publish a 087f soon.
Our timeframe for 088 include bi-weekly meetings until everything is done. We're planning for a beta end of july

Can you please tell us if version 087f is working with PHP 5.3?
If so can you please tell us when this version will be available?

Thanks in advance.

Current cacti does work with PHP 5.3!
PHP throws a lot of deprecated warnings, that you might suppress by a global setting.
Cacti 087f will suppress those warnings for the cacti application only.
Cacti 088 has ALL those deprecated code removed. It's already in there.

Thanks.

I tried it again. It was something else what was causing the error (forgot to install php-mysql again).

Your nick reminds me of a very skilled rrdtool guy. Do you have anything in common with http://www.vandenbogaerdt.nl ?

I'm really hoping you will release a version that includes the plugin architecture. I have tried about 25 times doing fresh installs and I can not get it to work at all.

PIA is in SVN since months. But we will publish 087f before.
If you open a new thread, I may help on installing PIA

I shall give it another try this weekend and if I am still having issues I will start a new thread for support.

Cheers,

John
