hi guys I'm new to MAC track and this is my first install of MACTrack 2.1 from SVN. Even though there is no official doc on usage I did lots of reading and following instructions to the best of my abilities.
Right now I have 1 layer 3 device (CISCO 6509 Router added). I can't get any MACs or IPs. When I added the device it detects:

SNMP Information
JC_CORE_6509 (172.18.140.200)
SNMP Information
System: Cisco IOS Software, s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-IPSERVICESK9_WAN-VM), Version 12.2(33)SXH2a, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2) Technical Support: http://www.cisco.com/techsupport Copyright (c) 1986-2008 by Cisco Systems, Inc. Compiled Fri 25-Apr-08 20:02 by pro
Uptime: 2890564940
Hostname: jc_core1_6509
ObjectID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.283

I have executed the following command and here is the output:
DEBUG: HOST: 172.18.140.200 is alive, processing has begun.
DEBUG: Scanning function is 'get_netscreen_arp_table'
DEBUG: SQL: UPDATE mac_track_devices SET ports_total='0',device_type_id='1',scan_type = '3',vlans_total='0',ports_active='0',ports_trunk='0',macs_active='0',snmp_readstring='test',snmp_sysName='jc_core1_6509',snmp_sysLocation='',snmp_sysContact='',snmp_sysObjectID='.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.283',snmp_sysDescr='Cisco IOS Software, s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-IPSERVICESK9_WAN-VM), Version 12.2(33)SXH2a, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2) Technical Support: http://www.cisco.com/techsupport Copyright (c) 1986-2008 by Cisco Systems, Inc. Compiled Fri 25-Apr-08 20:02 by pro',snmp_sysUptime='2890547055',snmp_status='3',last_runmessage='WARNING: Device Type Not Found in Device Type Table.',last_rundate='2010-02-12 12:51:28',last_runduration='0.0224' WHERE device_id ='1'

But beyond that and polling nothing works for me.
If there are any additional information needed please request it and I will be happy to post it.

Please refer to attached screenshots for error and configuration:

Any help to further this problem troubleshooting will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Errors under status are still the same and there are no MAC info still. Please help

Well, for your core switch/router, you are using the wrong IP Scanning Function. Its not a NetScreen Router. As far as your Cataylst, you need to setup the correct device type.

TheWitness, I appreciate your reply. Unfortunately my problem is not as simple as it shows initially.
I have reinstalled MACTRACK 2.1 from scratch and added 2 new different devices as a test 1 route and 1 switch just like you recommended in your other posts.

No matter what I do, and believe me I did reread all posts related to this topic, the router always shows as up with no other information and the switch shows as status error.
I can't even image what problem might be I'm thinking may be a cacti/linux install issue...
I have attached the cacti Techsupport log to see may be you see something unusual.

Be advised that in your first post you referred to a 65xx and another host and in your second post you referred to two absolutely different devices.

I'm aware that the new devices I added are different.
I decided that it might me easier to troubleshoot with simpler devices like Cisco 1841 router and Cisco 2960 switch.

Based on my previous post, what do you think is the problem with my setup?
I believe I have followed all of the recommendations from previous posts without any results to show.

Device Types. What version are you running?

Well, I would need to view your environment directly to tell.

I do understand your point,
I have installed an EZ Cacti 0.6 on a different system that comes with MACTrack 1.1 and everything works just fine, I'm able to pull MAC addresses from the switch.

I believe the problem on my primary system is with system configuration. May be NET-SNMP or may be anything else you can suggest to reinstall?

It was my first ever linux build from scratch and there is no wonder that something went wrong :)

MacTrack 2.2 could be out any day now. It's a pretty significant update.

Committed by now. But not yet tested enough. current SVN is supposed to have beta status by now. Feedback appreciated.

Wow I'm very excited about the release of MAC Track 2.2. I love the plugin that you wrote. However, TheWitness, I believe I found a bug in the release of 2.1.1 of the mactrack.

Take a look at the screen shot attached

Please pay attention to: CISCO 2851 Se0/1/0 Serial0/1/0 and CISCO 2851 Se0/2/0 Serial0/2/0

These are serial T1 interfaces, the router shows utilization on them around 20%, but MACTrack show no utilization and no traffic what so ever.
It seems like a bug. I have confirmed the findings on a different router with serial interface.
Can you please comment on it?

Will need more information on this to determine what is going on. What is the scan rate? What does your Cacti log show, etc. Is it snmpv1, v2, or v3? Lastly, run the scanner in debug mode for just that device and provide feedback.
