1) enable the Settings plugin
2) settings -> Mail / DNS tab. configure.
3) settings -> Thresholds tab. configure.

Sorry, I don't believe the current version supports SSL/TSL connections. The next version of Cacti does however.

you used the gmail exception process for this, correct?

When you perform the test, any errors displayed, logged in cacti.log or php_errors.txt? Sounds like a bug which needs to be fixed.

I have contacted google for issues and we made some settings like enabling smtp-relay and
we also entered our public IP address of network to gmail settings to be able to send emails.

The 2nd screenshot shows DNS resolution failure. Sure your local DNS servers are working correctly?

The FQDN is correct
Code:
C:\>ping smtp-relay.gmail.com

Pinging gmail-smtp-relay.l.google.com [2607:f8b0:400e:c02::1c] with 32 bytes of data:

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Your screen shot doesn't show any actual data that is a result of a DNS query, you just pinged an IP. Instead, you should ping smtp-relay.gmail.com like BSOD did, and when it resolves it to an ip, then that means that it was able to look up the DNS entry for it.

That screenshot is from 10.100.1.27? What DNS servers is it configured to use? Certain they're the same ones that you've told Cacti to use?
