Ok...I can backup and overwrite my cacti files to upgrade to 0.8.7h

Is it then that I should run the PIA 3.0 installer with it's patch routine for 0.8.7h?

Or is there a way to install the PIA without patching?

Thanks...sorry I am dense...if this is written up somewhere already...please point me the way.

Thanks again.

If you have not had PIA installed before, you have to source the pa.sql file. Otherwise, just overwrite the files and setup the config.php as indicated in the install instructions at http://docs.cacti.net

Hello,

First, thank you for this new version of Cacti.

I have a harmless error message in User Management > Add
Code:
Default Policy Notice: Undefined variable: policy in /path-to-cacti/cacti/user_admin.php on line X
The default allow/deny graph policy for this user.

In each box (only the line differs)
- Graph Permissions (By Graph) => with X = 525
- Graph Permissions (By Device) => with X = 583
- Graph Permissions (By Graph Template) => with X = 643
- Tree Permissions => with X = 702

I'm wondering if any of you noticed that or if it's specific to my system.

@bonj87: Did you install the PIA too? (you need to do this with each upgrade)

First, make a backup of your config.php (with your database username/password in it).

Then copy the contents of the "files" folder from the PIA archive onto the Cacti folder.

Then make sure your config.php has the correct username/password for the database in it.

That should do it... it's been a while since I did it too :-)

I use Firefox 7.0.1
I didn't think that this would be browser related. However, it's true I didn't look at the code (yet)
=)

No, pa.sql creates the plugin architecture tables, to be sure you could have a look at pa.sql to see what commands it contains.
