Over the years, I have worked with a number of COTS vendors that defeat superb open source solutions like Cacti. How do they do it? FUD. The favorite flavor of FUD for most COTS vendors is "scalability". I think we have a way to slam the door on the scalability FUD once and for all. You can achieve the very same by using the CereusTransporter plugin, Grafana and i.e. InfluxDB, all are freely available.

Great feedback, Phalek. Thanks for the comment. It is certainly a good thing that the Cacti community is well and broadly served.

If there is any interest in measuring the comparative ease of deployment, administration and ownership of similar type options, the VirtuOps team would support any effort to do such a comparison free of charge.
