I'm trying to get a Cacti graph for my HDD temperature.
The script part is quite easy because smartctl + grep will give you the answer.
A little sudo let cacti user the right to execute the script.
However here comes the hard part. Each times smartctl is call for a drive it reset it's timeout for spin down.
So the only "solution" I've founded is to raise poller interval to 2000 Sec (in field Step of data templace) while I've set HDD spin-down to 1800 sec
The issue is like many other user I get nothing on the graphs with still -nan
I do not find any suitable troubleshooting guide for such a situation.
Cacti is quite simple but get out of issue is very painfull...
Any help is welcomed
Here is the result of my perl scrit launched with cacti user
bash-4.2$ perl /usr/share/cacti/scripts/query_unix_disks.pl query temp
20°c means disk is sleeping...
