Hi all

I'm having some CPU usage problems with Cacti, sometimes up to 100% percent is taken by RRDtool when building a graph. It occurs with any kind of graph.

By using strace, I can see that the rrdtool process is in an infinite loop :
Code:
open("/etc/localtime", O_RDONLY)        = 9
fstat64(9, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=1082, ...}) = 0
close(9)                                = 0
open("/etc/localtime", O_RDONLY)        = 9
fstat64(9, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=1082, ...}) = 0
close(9)                                = 0
open("/etc/localtime", O_RDONLY)        = 9
fstat64(9, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=1082, ...}) = 0
close(9)                                = 0

Has someone already seen this problem ?
I'll post on the rrd-users mailing list...

Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm not sure  A lot of people are viewing our graphs.

Before killing one of the RRDtool processes, I noticed that "end - start" = 86400, so this one wasn't a zoom.

I am on vacation and will be back on the 9th. I believe this to be associated with the new RRDtool. Will post a fix/information when I get back to town.

Hi Larry

have a nice holidays ! :D

I've sent a description of my problem to Tobi, I also think it's a bug in RRDtool.

The strace gives the same output as fmangeant says.

Can someone attempt to build and install freetype2 2.1.10 that was released in late June. It had some quite significant bug fixes.

emat,

Word is that 2.1.10 fixed the problem in Gentoo. Check the other post and let's see what the other guys find. Also, someone needs to open bug's with the Linux vendors.
