For those that already have netflow reporting to an .rrd file here is a template to view the data within.

i get all confused when trying to implement it and get nowhere...

When I try to import these templates I got "XML parse error" messages.
I must said that before installation, I change the daily rows value from 600 to 17280.

Post subject: can not import the netflow template
PostPosted: Thu May 06, 2004 9:39 am

I tried to import the netflow template into my cacti software, I'm doing this:

- cacti web page (with admin user), import template, browse... (to select the XML template), click SAVE button and the browser appears to load/send the archive but so far nothing else happen.

The netflow templates are not imported, I looked in the mysql and are not in there.

I'm using cacti 0.8.5a and my web server is running under apache user.

This is the first template that I tried to import.

Can somebody give me a lead to resolve this problem?

Thanks in advanced.

hope i can help some:
i had the same problem with cacti 0.8.4 but in 0.8.5a it disappeared. now, i am not sure it has anything to do with the fact that i changed versions...
what i noticed is that after saving the template to my computer and double-clicking on the xml, instead of getting the xml template displayed, i got:
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
Invalid at the top level of the document. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/Documents and Settings/oharel/Desktop/Cacti/Netflow/cacti_graph_template_netflow.xml'. Line 1, Position 1

which did not happen with normal xmls.
compare your xml with one that is working - look at the first lines, as the error indicates. you might need to change the xml a bit...

Has anyone done anything more with this? I would very much prefer this to a third party graphing application.

I've tried to import the above mentioned XML files but I'm missing dependencies...and have no idea how to discover them.

Also, perhaps some guidance in how to configure cflowd (or the like) for use with cacti and these template???

It's trivial to create a netflow template really.

I have followed the intructions from and later i have discovered ... ht=netflow

Thanks Reinhard and Loceur

this error in flowscan logs means that CFlow is not compiled with flowtools support
Invalid index in cflowd flow file: 0xCF100103! Version 5 flow-export is required with *all* fields being saved.

to enable cflow support, ensure that you compile cflow from within flow-tools directory, right after you compile flow-tools. you will also see the -OSU flag during the compile process.

Hail Reinhard once again :D
