MRTG->Cacti basic conversion Script ( Bash Shell )

#1 Post by larry-roberts » Wed Jul 06, 2005 2:51 pm

For those that are looking at doing the conversion here is a script to do it for you. No making fun of my 'l33t' coding skills either!

This will rename the MRTG RRD files to .old "just in case". I would still recommend running this in a seperate directory on COPIES of the existing RRD files

I will also be posting a script for copying over 3550 RRD files. With a little modification it should be easily converted to match your env. if needed.

Hey man, I ran the script, but I don't understand what should I do next. What is the next step to migrate the device .xml just created to cacti?
Sorry for that, I just realized that there is no .xml file. However the mrtg .rrd file just created didn't work on cacti(I put it on the cacti /rra directory). The question is the same, what should I do to get it working properly?
