I did some searching on the forum for a HOW TO but come up with nothing. I am wondering how to poll multiple hosts and plot them in one graph. EX. I have 2 APC batteries and would like to graph output power. I would like to go to one graph and see the results rather than go to each host to see the g...

I am having trouble compiling.

I am logged in as root and I get the following.

> cd /tmp
> cd Samba/source
> ./autogen.sh
bash: ./autogen.sh: Permission denied

Does this need to be run under shell?

odd, but even though the cacti barks at you when you choose ICMP. It still works for downed host detection.

ICMP ping

In reguards to the solution using snmp instead of ping, what if the device can only ping and has no snmp.


I currently have a device that will do only icmp ping. :(

I found my answer. I did not have my nameserver and doamin setup correctly in the /etc/resolv.conf file. Entered the information and it worked great.

Make sure to have the reverse zones setup in dns.

I would be interested in this also. Not sure how to tell cacti to poll it everytime a call is active.

there could be ten of then in 2 secs. Maybe there is an oid that give 5min totals?

I found I had a time sync issue. This fixed my hard drive space graphing but the network graphing is still spotty.
