No problem at all, it was a painful issue for me to figure out, so you may have noticed me replying to just about every NPC topic on the forum in the last day or so about using the right package. :) I just want to help others avoid the pain I went through haha.

Re: Cacti works with NPC

You have to create hosts/services through Nagios first. It is a somewhat lengthy topic that can easily become complicated, but the process is simple. You have to create/modify .cfg files in Nagios that define your monitoring rules. This is your best friend: http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/toc...

It might also be due to the package he downloaded.

[HOWTO] Installation Guide | Ubuntu 11.04 | Cacti | Nagios

Hello everyone. I have put together what I feel is a very straight forward guide that walks you through installing Cacti and Nagios on the same machine with every command needed. The purpose for this is to have trending data, monitoring and alerting all from within 1 GUI, Cacti. I am a beginner Linu...

Re: [HOWTO] 0.8.7 and 1 minute polling

I have followed the steps detailed by tekbot and willieb but I can't seem to get my graphs working. I continue to get -nan values and have followed both sets of directions various times (excluding willieb's changing of cron to 1 minute). This is a fresh install. I have tried removing all the graphs ...

Re: NPC: Poller[0] DEBUG [NpcHostsController]

I have just spent a lot of time working with NPC and whenever I had this issue happen to me it was because ndo2db daemon was not running. You can launch it manually by the following command (adjust your paths as needed). /usr/local/nagios/bin/ndo2db -c /usr/local/nagios/etc/ndo2db.cfg You can setup ...

Re: Nagios Plugin for Cacti (npc) not available any more?

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had issues with this link: http://www.scsorlando.com/files/npc2.0.4.tar All the images were missing from that package, so NPC didn't look right. I found a good version elsewhere in the forum, hope this helps someone out: http://www.mediafire.com/?iefyesb24ppsbwl

I ran into this exact same problem and discovered that wmi.php requires an IP address for the host and not a hostname. Change the hostname to an IP address in the device settings and see if that fixes the issue. Thanks for the suggestion, it didn't seem to change anything for me :( I let ~5 polls g...
