Found it...

I was able to run the queries for the database outside of the scripts... Just ran into the same issue earlier in this thread about leaving out the: DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 In the query... I have found another odd issue now that I've started creating a few of these graphs... The Text Format after the ...

MIA

Please check, wether the table plugin_color_templates exists in your cacti database. If not, I suppose this is due to some mysql strict checking (which may be a result of my sub-optimal SQL definition  ) Reinhard That was my first thought but I didn't have the two minutes to look through your...

Error: Save Failed.

I'm trying to create new color templates... None exist after the install so when going to the "add", enter my name and hit save - I get a response "Error: Save Failed." I didn't see anything in the debug logs: 01/23/2008 03:43:04 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Assoc: "select realm_id from user_au...

found solution

Found that if you remove the entry for SNMP community, set the SNMP port and timeout to 0 - it disables SNMP. By doing that it was able to run the poller and pick up the items. However - it still doesn't show up in the GUI... But it does process the poller.php... Either way - just glad it works... (...

Same issue...

SQL-query SQL-query: SELECT count( * ) FROM poller_item [Edit] [Explain SQL] [Create PHP Code] [Refresh] count(*) 9 However, when I run it: 06/22/2007 05:00:01 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: Either there are no items in the cache or polling is disabled 06/22/2007 05:00:02 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Time:...

elnino, Nope - I was using the F5 BIGIP script found here: http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=17030& It's the first time I'm using SNMP to gather metrics inside of Cacti. For the last three years I've been using my own scripts and parsing numbers for my metrics. What's odd is that I never see a...

Same issue - using F5 scripts...

I'm getting the same issue... Looks like it's pretty specific to our instances since I haven't seen very many posts like it... Here are my debug logs: 02/09/2007 10:43:18 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Assoc Failed "SELECT poller_item.*, data_template_data.name_cache, host.description FROM data_t...

Speedup of Export?

I have about 2100 RRD files with 6,000+ graphs so far with about 2 years of data in them... Exporting takes about (I'm not kidding) 72 hours. This is running on an AIX p630 with 4 CPUs. Of course, my RRD files are the realm of about 10 GB now (I keep 5 minute detailed data for 6 months in all of the...

Polling Items Disappeared with 8.6i

I upgraded from 8.6h to 8.6i and have found that the polling list is now empty from the Web list - but is still working. I'm not sure if this is a similiar problem to what I encountered a few years ago: http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=4592&highlight= Waiting on 1/1 pollers. OK u:0.01 s:0.01 ...

Length of data source names in graph management issue

Some of my data sources that I use are rather long. For an example: was_j2c-prod51-1serv_bre-internal_WebSphere_MQ_JMS_Provider_decisionrouterPQCF_relmsg1_1 In the configurations settings option, you can set how long you want Cacti to display a data source name before it introduces elipses in the ti...

Different MySQL port

Is it possible to configure the database connection section to allow for running Cacti against a non-standard port? (3306) - I saw some mention of doing so in another post but it seems to be related to CACTID - not Cacti itself. At least - when I tried using 'localhost:4306' - it didn't work. I'm on...

Summation Question

I've enjoyed being able to sum up datasources such as bandwidth in Cacti... However, this isn't very useful for items that are not related to bandwidth. I'd like to be able to sum up other items such as Web hits or other numeric value that doesn't correspond to bytes or bits. Is this option availabl...

path length

bump Try running the command outside of Cacti... I've seen this (especially on Windows) that there is a limit of how many characters can be sent to RRD. Windows has a limit of 256 (I think) - So if you try to send a command to RRD - part of it will get chopped of when you paste it into a command li...
