Re: Traffic difference between Cacti versions

Ok, here is a snapshot of the template for the graph. Selecting item #7 (Max) basically destroys the graph. Did you want the graph template for the actual graphs instead of the aggregate graph?

Thank you very much for looking into this!

Traffic difference between Cacti versions

I've set up Cacti 1.2.7 on a new server to replace an old server running Cacti 0.8.8.f and am having a few difficulties. One being the traffic graphs are not nearly the same. I've attached a pic displaying aggregate of one interface on a cisco cmts. This is the downstream traffic. The graphs are not...

Re: Very large number of variables, Cacti is having trouble

Thanks for that tip, I hadn't thought of that! I bumped memory in php.ini from 128m to 256m. I'm not a php expert, so I don't know if that's still not high enough. I don't want to play too much, as this box is pretty much what is used by our isp and our tsr's to help them troubleshoot devices. I gue...

Very large number of variables, Cacti is having trouble with

I'm running Cacti version 8.8f. I've been using Cacti for many years, monitoring 18 Cisco cmts's. We have now purchased a new CBR8, and I have it working, but Cacti is having some troubles when I try to create graphs. Any web browser I use simply stops responding, even after an hour or so. I found a...

Ahh, edit or add the cdef in the attached screen print.
I remember there being a subtle change with the cdef between 8.7 and 8.8 with the fec.

Re: Templates to Cisco uBR (SNR, FEC, Modems Ups, Interf Uti

Here are the templates I use.

I had to rar them as this site sees the individual files as a virus of some sort.

Hopefully they will work for you.

These are exported from version 0.8.8.a

Re: Templates to Cisco uBR (SNR, FEC, Modems Ups, Interf Uti

Hi Pacopaco, To me it looks like your mec upstream graph is actually the snr for the upstream. I am not sure what the horizontal lines are in that graph though. Here is what I graph for each cable interface (mac domain if you prefer). I stripped out a few graphs, so the message should be a little ea...

Re: Templates to Cisco uBR (SNR, FEC, Modems Ups, Interf Uti

I'm not sure what you mean by relating amount of modems to the snr, they aren't related to each other. What exactly are you looking to do? On the 18 ubrs I take care of, on each interface (mac domain) I look at the following with Cacti: 1. Modems per interface 2. Modems per upstream 3. Upstream traf...

Re: 0.8.8b ignores database settings in include/config.php

Well, good to hear you got it working. I 'upgraded' from 8.7a from 2 machines both running redhat ES3 on 2 separate networks, and were used very heavily, device wise and user wise, over 200 devices each and I can't even recall how many ten's of thousands of data sources. I was using thold, and the b...

Re: 0.8.8b ignores database settings in include/config.php

I've run into this problem while installing 8.8 on a CentOs machine, and as it turns out, I couldn't use 127.0.0.1 for the hostname, I had to use the name I gave the machine, and lo and behold, it worked! Mine ended up looking like this: $database_type = "mysql"; $database_default = "cacti"; $databa...

Make a template from an Aggregate graph?

Is it possible to make a template from an aggregate graph? I monitor a few dozen Cisco ubr10k cmts's (all wideband), each currently with 4 downstream (output) channels, and one wideband channel, for a total of 5 downstream (output) per mac domain. Each cmts has 40 mac domains, and it gets to be a pa...

Hi WilleB, I'm glad they worked for you. I've had some personal issues to deal with and haven't been online much lately. My company, in their ultimate wizdom purchased 2 Arris C4 cmts units instead of Cisco 10k's. Does anyone have any template similar to the Cisco templates, like modems per upstream...

Hi Willieb. I've been using baseline monitoring on my upstreams for over a year and it working very well for me. I don't remember the default values anymore, but I'm using these #'s in the Threshold templates: Reference in the past: 86400 Time Range: 10800 Deviation up: 100 Deviation down: 20 (for 2...
