Possible fix

I also got these errors on 8.7b until I made some changes to query_mds9020_san_portinfo.php

Namely, include functions.php and global.php. I also added blank parameters the snmp walk function call to eliminate those warnings.

Very interesting. These were both with the built-in interface query graphs in cacti?

I would look at the poller cache for the 64bit graph and then snmpget it from the command line to make sure it's a Counter64.

Check the devices list and make sure the device in question isn't listed as "down".

Paths and filenames in unix/linux are case sensitive. I am guessing that your cacti install is "/home/www/cacti"?

It's possible that the snmpd on your linux system was compiled without 64 bit counter support (for example, I've had this problem with RHEL4/CentOS4).

Try,

Code: Select all

snmpwalk -c public -v 2c host.to.graph | grep -i Counter64

Is there a max value for the DS in the data template/source? It will default to 100 for a gauge.

Take a look in the cacti poller cache (under system utilities) and verify what cacti is trying to retrieve. If it is an snmp query, see if you can get it manually with a snmpget from the command line.

I've been running cacti for 3 years. It's the best tool that I've found for trending and presenting performance data. Its extensibility and template system make it ideal for managing diverse systems and creating custom graphs for your environment. Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into the p...

The counter is "working" but displaying the data in change per second. If you want to display it as change per 5 minutes, you could create a CDEF function the multiplies the value by 300.

Keep in mind that the counter value indicates that the link has transfered 1GB since the last time the counter was reset. Cacti is graphing the difference between those values over time to derive bits/s. Is it possible the interface is no longer busy? Also, if you anticipate traffic over 100mb/s, th...

I have done the one big data source in the past, but that method tends not to lend itself well to templates. What I did recently for a similar problem with DB statistics that I wanted to limit the number of connections being made per poll: 1. Dumped data to file via cron, 1 minute before poller cron...

Did you happen to set the date into the future at some point as well? rrdtool will not insert values if it believes it has received a "newer" update (even if that update is for a future date).
