OK, I've gotten it working. Let me try to rephrase the original question, and see if that doesn't explain it a little better. I have a graph template that I added several Supplemental Graph Template Items to. Each of these uses a new Data Source Template. These new data sources propagated down to th...

I'd love to, the problem is that there is no RRD file to tune. I have my original rrd files out there, but the DS names haven't changed on those. I need to add a new rrd file to start collecting the new information. If I look at my graph under Graph Management, I see all of the data sources out ther...

OK, first things first, install the netapp.mib from the filer in /vol/vol0/etc/mibs/ to your MIB directory on your box, and make sure SNMP resolves the OID's for you. That will make looking at the data much easier. Your problem is that NetApp only supports SNMPv1. The largest datatype they have is a...

Interface graphing oddity

I have a box with a GigE interface on it that is not graphing correctly, I'm getting NaN's. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the data query, but I'd like to get some confirmation. Here is the SNMP data from the interface: IF-MIB::ifIndex.131076 = INTEGER: 131076 IF-MIB::ifDescr.131076 = STRING: B...

Adding datasources to existing graphs

So, NetApp has decided to define new consistency points on me (fetchable via SNMP.) I've copied the old data templates to new ones, and changed the new ones appropriately (name, DS name, and OID.) I then added it to my graph template. So now, when I setup a new NetApp, it will work well. Unfortunate...

NetApp's are a PITA when it comes to SNMP. They steadfastly refuse to support anything other than SNMPv1. V1 only goes as high as a 32-bit integer, and overflows around 4 TB. So, as a workaround, they supply some OID's in their MIB that let you query the space. You have to read 2 MIB values in their...

All of my servers are running well with Net-SNMP 5.2.1, except for the new Sun T2000 box I have, which doesn't appear to returning data for the HCOctets counters. That appears to need Net-SNMP 5.4 and also failed to work under my previous version of Cacti. I don't think that 0.8.6j requires Net-SNMP...

I upgraded to 0.8.6j, and applied the ping patch, since I'm running PHP 4. My cacti.log was littered with the error: "WARNING: sockets support not enabled in PHP,falling back to SNMP ping" So, I looked at the code for ping.php, and saw this block: if (!function_exists("socket_create")) { $avail_meth...

Thanks for the advice. I had successfully figured out the task_item_id part on the graph_templates_item table (and you're correct, it is confusing...) So, I have some SQL that looks like this: select distinct gg.id, gg.title, gi.* from graph_templates_item gi, graph_templates_graph gg where gg.id = ...

Schema question

OK, I have problems that have crept into my graph setups. Basically, some of the parameters on my data source are incorrect. I could update them, but I need to link them back to the graph title to see what the correct values are. I've tried going over the schema, and I know that my parameters are on...

I've had a chance to build, altough not install or test, the new cactid, and it looks like all of my issues have been addressed on Sol 8 w/ Net-SNMP 5.2.1. Thanks for all of your (and Ian's now) hard work. I will probably not get a chance to test the actual program until this weekend.

Don't know if you care anymore, but it's likely the same reason. Anything that tries to link wit the Net-SNMP .so's is going to fail, because you will not find libkstat.so. If you try the fix a recommended, I'll bet it will start working.

Yup, Sure Did!! And this is what I got: nms-lab3(root)# ./configure -lkstat configure: error: unrecognized option: -lkstat Try `./configure --help' for more information. nms-lab3(root)# Do you see what I may have missed? Thanks! NetGeek You actually have to hack the configure script. I'm sure that ...

Sure, did you bother to read my post above, specifically point number 3, which is specific to the Solaris 8 OS + Net-SNMP?
