fusion io cards with cacti

I'm looking to deploy a brand new cacti instance and considering adding in some fusion io cards to help improve performance. I'll have two HP DL380 servers - one for the poller spine and rrd's and web service and a second backend machine dedicated to the mysql db. Figure I will add in one flash card...

Both ganglia and collectd are great tools for cluster monitoring. I prefer collectd since it has more input and output options (i.e. cvs, rrd, etc.). But I would still really like to use cacti for the frontend and let those other tools gather the data. Much easier then snmp.

cacti and collectd

I also really like the idea of combining collectd and cacti. I like collectd because it includes a push model where we can have have a large number of compute hosts all reporting data over tcp channel to a central server where the data is logged to flat files via csv or directly to rrd. Also the con...

solid state storage for rrds with cacti

Hi, Anyone using solid state storage for housing all the rrd's with cacti? We've got a mid size cacti installation and to help improve our system performance and decrease i/o I was considering moving all of our rrd's to something like an ioDrive from HP (would fit nicely in our blade) but with 5 min...
