Re: Compilation issues

dos2unix *

works too :)

To solve:

Code: Select all

- Go to ./config directory
- remove "^M" from the files "config.guess","config.sub","depcomp","mkinstalldirs","install-sh"
Howto: Use the command "%s/^M//g" within vim
    Remark: ^ = CTRL-V / M = CTRL-M

The smoke represents the overall jitter. The darker the smoke signifies that most of your ping pkts were in that latency range. The 2 darkest smoke colors are based on the deviation return by the ping test. The deviation is divided by 2 and stacked on top of the green avg line. The next 3 grays are ...

Aggregation of 2,3, and 4 sources

Not sure if this will help anyone, but we have 4 Internet providers where I work, and I wanted to graph them all to see what our aggregate Internet bw was coming in and out. So attached are some graph templates.

Using a decent box and cactid configured with the right thread count, it should easily be able to handle that. I have 181 hosts with 11702 data sources, producing 6104 rrds....some of my tests are scripts that take about 20 seconds to complete, and my complete run takes about 35 seconds to complete....

Interestingly enough I seem to have two glibc rpms installed:

glibc-2.3.2-95.37
glibc-2.3.4-2.13

I'm going to get rid of the 2.3.2-95 version and re-compile cactid. I see now that the nft_popen.c you were referring to was part of the cactid source....

Will let you know.

Once I switched my "Downed Host Detection" method to "SNMP -Reliable" from "PING and SNMP - Most Recommended" everything worked for me again and I was able to crank my thread level up on cactid.

Rony,

When I set the Downed Host Detection to SNMP - Reliable, I don't get the errors if I bump up the threads....is there a problem with ping detection? I've always had it set that way. I did upgrade my OS to AS4 though...
