Changing the Sampling Rate for a Specific Graph Set

I am currently monitoring a port on a couple different switches that are linked to our WAN interconnects. I used the basic ethernet template, but it seems to be averaging out the values over a 5 minute interval. I know this is by design, but I was wondering if there was a way to perhaps change the p...

Re: Unable to Log Into Cacti

Issue is resolved. Apparently when the appliance senses a problem (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) it puts the file system in a read only state. We did some SAN work and VMware work last night and its what caused the fs to panic. I rebooted the box on a whim and everything has returned to working order. Also expl...

[Resolved] Unable to Log Into Cacti

Hey everyone, I woke up this morning and noticed a few things were up with my monitoring system. The first thing I noticed was I couldn't log into Cacti (I attempted both LDAP and local). I then noticed that my Smokeping wasn't working and it's housed on the same box. I have a sneaking suspicion tha...

Re: Applying THold To Multiple Objects

Perfect. Otherwise I would have had to assign about 590 graphs my template.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Notification when transfer is more than 100 Mb/s on inte

You want to look into setting up Thold I believe. There's a bit of setup involved in that. After Thold is up and running, I think you can then create a threshold based on inbound or outbound traffic flow and set it up to alert you.

First things first, investigate setting up Thold.

Applying THold To Multiple Objects

I have a Thold template that is working great. So great in fact that management wants me to apply it to all servers in our environment. I have about 100 servers and each server has 3-7 disk volumes attached. Is there an easy way to apply this HDD template I created across multiple devices instead of...

Switch Port Change, Would Like to Retain Stats

Recently, I changed out switches in one of my data centers. We changed a 24 port switch to a 48 port switch for added capacity among other reasons. Formerly Cacti was tracking on gi 1/0/24 and now, I've moved the traffic in question to port 1/0/48. Is there a way I can get Cacti to continue tracking...

Re: Installation nmidSmokeping PLUGIN

I am a little confused here on what I am doing wrong with the installation of this plugin. I've downloaded the latest files from the link provided and as far as I can see there are 3 PHP files. I created a subfolder in the plugins directory of Cacti, but when I do that, the actual plugins UI inside ...

nmidSmokePing Installation Question

Hey everyone, I couldn't find any recent posts or posts related to my specific issue. I am sorry if this is a redundant question and if someone could just point me to the right forum post if this has already been asked, I would greatly appreciate it. I just got my Smokeping installation up and runni...

LeftHand P4500 Plugin

Hey guys and gals, Long time user. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure this out. I am looking at volume latency for the LHN P4500 plugin available from the repository. I've had it running for some time, but the numbers don't seem to make sense to me. I've noticed that my read and write nu...

Re: Active Directory Authentication Issues

Figured it out. I can't use my normal password complexity rules for the Distinguished Name for LDAP Specific Searching. When I used CactiLDAPUser.[email protected].domain.com, I kept getting the errors attached to the post above. I decided to make a test account, [email protected].domain.com with a simple pa...

Re: Hosted Cacti Solution

Jumpbox has a really nice appliance that you can run in a VMware Player. I downloaded it and I am currently running it now. They give you a free trial for about 30 days and then it switches to pay, but you can just cancel once you have your download of the Jumpbox. After you get it up and running it...

[Solved!] Active Directory Authentication Issues

I feel absolutely terrible posting this as I've had similar questions, however I have a new issue that's giving me fits. I have a new Cacti server that I have configured and now I would like to get LDAP Authentication up and running. I've done this before so I figured it was no big deal, but this ti...

Re: Move Top Level Items on Tree

Thanks for the reply Gandalf. I appreciate it when you reply, all your answers are pretty straight forward and easy to follow. I basically just spent the time and redid the trees over the weekend. It was pretty brainless so I did it while watching football. I also checked out AUTOM8 and I may actual...

Move Top Level Items on Tree

I went really in depth when I started and made a top level tree item for all my individual devices. About halfway through my project to deploy Cacti for my entire infrastructure, I decided to make top level categories (for management's sake because they don't understand naming conventions) and then ...
