Fixing unknown values in graphs with straight line

Hi

My system was not collecting data for about 3 hours due to a system problem. Its working again now, but there is a big gap in my graphs.

I recall a method for replacing all the 0's in a graph gap with a straight line. I just can't find how to enable this.

Can anyone tell me?

Thanks.

Re: Find graphs with no data source selected

Would you PM me the SQL? I would really appreciate it.

Or just hints at the SQL.

Find graphs with no data source selected

I noticed a couple of my graphs were missing data sources. The data sources existed and were being collected, they were just not linked to the graph. Picture below is an example. Is there a way to report on which graphs might have this? I have 6000 graphs. There must be an SQL statement that can eas...

Re: Adding data sources by command line or with script.

I think you need to add graphs, and adding the graph automatically adds the datasources that it will need. There are command line scripts in the cli folder for adding graphs (add_graphs.php), and there are also plugins like AutoM8 that will automate the creation of graphs, based on rules you can set.

Re: data source max value problem

Also - see the attached template. It will graph inoctets, outoctets and ifspeed all together. If you set your 'bandwidth' statement correctly on your router or switch, then this graph will show a red line for the real carrier speed (bandwidth). This is useful when you have a 1Gbps interface going to ...

Re: data source max value problem

ds traffic_in value in rrd file bits or bytes For the standard 'SNMP Interfaces' queries that come with cacti, they always collect octets via SNMP for interface traffic, which is bytes. The standard Interfaces MIB only tracks octets/bytes. If the associated graph template when you created the inter...

Re: Error: Save Failed

Confirm your poller is running (by checking cacti logs & crontab). Make sure user roo can write to the rra folder, and owns all the rra files in there. In my system its /usr/local/share/cacti/rra/ Try su'ing to the user that the poller run as and writing a file in the rra directory or using one of t...

Re: Cacti 0.8.7b and Cisco 2821 router

Without looking into why the router doesn't respond with the UDP ping, you could change the ping type globally:

Go to Console -> Settings -> Poller -> Ping Type.

Re: Graphs show wrong values

Its more to do with rrdtool, and how it stores values over time. There is a lot documented about this, but remember its not really cacti here, its rrdtool storing and graphing the data. If you look into your rrd file with rrdexport (or its equivilant) you might see the values being stored are not 0 ...

Re: SNMP Error - Cacti devices

As per the screenshot, cacti is reporting "SNMP Error". This means the cacti server can't SNMP poll this device. Either SNMP is not enabled, or a firewall is blocking it. As this UDP ping works, you can rule out routing as that is clearly OK. Given your device was just replaced, i'm guessing SNMP co...

Re: Empty graph notification

Also look into Autom8. It may be that your problem is that with so many devices, indexes are not being refreshed over time (such as new partitions, CPU, interfaces, controllers, drives) as they get added to your network inventory. Autom8 will fix this, by using rules to create new graphs as new rows...

Re: Error: Save Failed

Sounds like a database permissions or connection issue. Try adding the device from the command line with php -q add_device.php and see what error that gives. Try re-creating the database from the .sql file Check permissions of your RRA files Just kill off any poller processes that are still running ...

Re: Index Count is always 0 in debug query

I think your problem is in the XML file in this section: <APIndex> <name>Index</name> <method>walk</method> <source>value</source> <direction>input</direction> <oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.14525.4.5.1.1.2.1.19</oid> </APIndex> You say that the index is 1.3.6.1.4.1.14525.4.5.1.1.2.1 but in the above code you ha...
